1. GSFP, NARAYANPUR SPORTS AND CULTURAL MEET 20TH DEC,2023

Fostering Health, Discipline, and Cultural Pride Through Community Engagement

On December 20, 2023, the grounds of Narayanpur GSFP Government School in Rajarhat came alive with cheer, excitement, and spirited competition as the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation organized a day-long Sports and Cultural Meet. Held under the twin initiatives Silico Shiksha and Silico Swasth, the event aimed to encourage physical well-being, nurture cultural roots, and strengthen community ties among schoolchildren and residents alike.

The event brought together over 250 students from the local area who enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities, including track and field races, team sports, yoga demonstrations, and traditional games. Alongside sports, the cultural segment featured folk music, dance performances, and storytelling sessions, celebrating the local heritage and giving children a platform to express their creativity and identity.

The Foundation’s volunteers and school staff worked hand-in-hand to ensure the smooth execution of the day, providing nutritious refreshments, first aid support, and engaging commentary throughout the events. Prizes and certificates were distributed to winners and participants, reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Parents, educators, and community leaders also joined the celebration, appreciating the holistic development focus of the initiative. For many students, it was a rare opportunity to shine beyond academics, while for the community, it was a proud reminder of the power of collective effort and inclusive progress.

2. GSFP,VIVEK UTSAV 13TH JAN,2024

Honoring the Legacy of Swami Vivekananda through Youth Empowerment and Cultural Expression

On 13th January 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, in collaboration with GSFP Government School, Rajarhat, celebrated Vivek Utsav—a tribute to the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders and youth icons. The event was held as part of the Silico Shiksha initiative, aiming to inspire students to embrace values of self-confidence, service, and knowledge.

The day began with a solemn floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda, followed by a motivational talk delivered by local educationists and foundation volunteers. Students were introduced to Vivekananda’s philosophy of fearlessness, discipline, and dedication to national service—an empowering message that deeply resonated with young minds.

A highlight of the celebration was the youth parade and slogan march, where students proudly held placards with inspirational quotes and messages reflecting national pride, unity, and self-development.

The school premises came alive with cultural performances, including songs, speeches, dance recitals, and dramatic presentations based on key moments from Vivekananda’s life. These activities were not only entertaining but also educational, encouraging students to reflect on the power of character and determination.

Interactive essay and drawing competitions were held to engage children creatively while encouraging them to express how Vivekananda’s life continues to influence modern India. Prizes and appreciation certificates were awarded to winners, boosting their confidence and participation.

The Vivek Utsav at GSFP School was more than a celebration—it was a call to action for the youth to become thoughtful, responsible, and courageous citizens. Celebrating Spring Through Culture, Community, and Collaboration

On 6th March 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, in collaboration with GSFF Narayanpur Government School, hosted a heartwarming celebration of Basanta Utsav — an event dedicated to honoring the season of renewal and cultural richness. Held within the school premises of Narayanpur, Rajarhat, this collaborative effort created a vibrant platform for students, teachers, parents, and local community members to come together in joy, learning, and artistic expression.

The festivities began with a cultural procession led by students dressed in traditional attire, carrying flowers and singing songs that echoed the spirit of spring and harmony. Inspired by the teachings of Rabindranath Tagore, the event drew on Bengal’s heritage of welcoming spring with grace, music, and poetry.

Silico Shiksha volunteers facilitated educational and interactive activities focusing on the significance of Basanta Utsav in Indian culture — teaching young minds about the values of seasonal change, gratitude to nature, and unity through shared tradition.

The event featured a variety of performances, including Rabindra Sangeet, traditional folk dances, poetry recitations, and dramatizations prepared by students and teachers. The open stage turned into a colorful canvas of talent, where every act echoed the beauty of the changing season and the enthusiasm of young hearts.

One of the most cherished moments was the color exchange ceremony, where organic abir was joyfully applied among participants — symbolizing unity, love, and the promise of new beginnings.

It reflected Silico Seva Mandir Foundation’s ongoing mission to nurture culture, education, and emotional development in school children across rural and semi-urban Bengal.

4. GYAN NIKETAN REPUBLIC WEEK CELEBRATION 20TH JAN ,2024

Honoring the Spirit of the Nation with Pride, Participation, and Purpose

On 20th January 2024, Gyan Niketan School, Kolkata, in collaboration with the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, proudly celebrated Republic Week — a tribute to India’s democratic values, rich cultural heritage, and the responsibilities of its young citizens. The celebration was not just a ceremonial occasion, but a vibrant educational experience designed to deepen patriotic values and civic understanding among students.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a stirring rendition of the national anthem and a patriotic group song performed by the school choir. A sense of unity and pride resonated throughout the campus as students, teachers, and parents gathered to honor the Constitution and the ideals it upholds.

Silico Shiksha, the Foundation’s educational wing, organized a special civic awareness session for students of all grades, covering the significance of the Constitution, the rights and duties of citizens, and the role of youth in nation-building. Interactive quizzes, poster-making competitions, and storytelling sessions brought the themes of justice, equality, and freedom to life in a meaningful way.

The highlight of the celebration was a cultural showcase featuring speeches, traditional dances, patriotic skits, and student-led dramatizations of historical moments from India’s freedom struggle. School Principal Mr. Ravinder Singh and members of the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation addressed the gathering with inspiring messages, encouraging students to carry forward the values enshrined in the Constitution with integrity and compassion.

5. GYAN NIKETAN SCIENCE EXHIBITION 16TH MARCH ,2024

 

 

 

Introducing Science to Young Minds and the Role of Silico Seva Mandir Foundation

On March 16, 2024, the Gyan Niketan campus buzzed with excitement as it hosted a vibrant Science Exhibition, an event curated to ignite scientific curiosity among schoolchildren. Organized in collaboration with the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, the exhibition was more than a display of models and experiments—it was a hands-on introduction to the transformative power of science.

The event featured interactive science demonstrations, student-led projects, and community activities designed to make learning engaging and accessible. Children from various nearby villages attended the exhibition, many experiencing scientific equipment and concepts for the first time. From basic robotics and solar energy models to environmental science and biology displays, the event bridged the gap between theory and real-world application.

The Foundation’s volunteers played a pivotal role in mentoring the students, explaining complex ideas in simple, relatable ways, and encouraging young minds to question, observe, and innovate. Special sessions were held for girls to inspire confidence and interest in STEM subjects, aiming to reduce gender disparity in science education.

Nearly 400 students, teachers, parents, and community members participated in the event, transforming the school into a hub of learning and inspiration. The Gyan Niketan Science Exhibition marked a significant step in the Foundation’s mission to promote inclusive, grassroots-level science education—empowering the next generation of thinkers, problem-solvers, and change-makers in rural India.

6. RAMKRISHNA MATH RITURANGA UTSAV AND SPORTS 17TH MARCH ,2024

   

Celebrating Seasons, Spirituality, and Sportsmanship with Joy and Unity

On 17th March 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Bishnupur (Rajarhat), organized the vibrant and soul-enriching Rituranga Utsav & Sports Day, bringing together community members, children, and spiritual leaders for a joyful celebration of nature, wellness, and collective harmony.

The event began with a morning prayer and meditation session led by monks from the Math, setting a serene and reflective tone for the day. The spirit of seasonal change — “Rituranga” — was beautifully expressed through cultural performances that celebrated nature’s rhythms, Indian heritage, and the spiritual message of balance and growth.

Children from nearby schools and local communities participated in traditional music, dance, and poetry, all themed around the changing seasons and the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. Their performances reflected a deep appreciation for cultural values and creative expression.

The second half of the day was dedicated to sports and physical well-being, aligning with Silico Swasth’s mission of encouraging fitness and discipline among children and youth. Fun yet meaningful competitions like sack race, relay, tug of war, and yoga demonstrations added excitement to the occasion and promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Parents, teachers, monks, and Silico Seva Mandir Foundation volunteers cheered on the participants, making the atmosphere vibrant and inclusive. Prizes and certificates were distributed to winners, and all children received health kits and refreshments.

The Rituranga Utsav & Sports Day at Ramakrishna Math was a beautiful blend of spiritual reflection, cultural celebration, and joyful physical engagement, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing holistic growth in body, mind, and soul.

7. BELPAHARI TRIBAL VILLAGE ,JHARKHAND SPORTS AND CULTURAL EVENT ,SILICO AHAAR UTSAV 30TH OCTOBER ,2024

On October 30, 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation organized Silico Ahaar Utsav, a vibrant day-long event in Belpahari, a tribal village nestled in the heart of Jharkhand. Designed to celebrate local traditions while promoting the importance of education and nutrition, the event became a heartfelt expression of unity, empowerment, and cultural pride.

Over 400 attendees—including children, elders, women, and youth from Belpahari and nearby villages—came together to participate in a lively blend of cultural showcases and community engagement. Traditional tribal dances, folk music, and storytelling sessions highlighted the richness of local heritage, while sports competitions fostered team spirit, discipline, and physical well-being among the youth.

Under the initiatives Silico Shiksha, Silico Swasth, and Silico Ahaar, the event also featured interactive educational sessions, motivational talks, and awareness programs on health and nutrition. The Foundation distributed essential food items and school supplies to support families in need, further reinforcing its commitment to holistic rural development.

A key aspect of Silico Ahaar Utsav was the effort to bridge generations—where elders shared ancestral wisdom, and children were encouraged to dream big and pursue education. The enthusiasm of the participants, combined with the tireless efforts of the Foundation’s volunteers, transformed the event into a symbol of progress rooted in cultural identity.

8. BELPAHARI PLANTATION DRIVE 29TH OCTOBER ,2024

 

Greening the Future: Community-Led Environmental Action in Rural Jharkhand

On October 29, 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation spearheaded a meaningful plantation drive in the tribal village of Belpahari, Jharkhand. The initiative was a powerful step toward fostering environmental consciousness and encouraging sustainable living practices within rural and tribal communities.

Guided by the Foundation’s vision of rural development through education and environmental stewardship, the event emphasized the long-term importance of green cover in preserving ecological balance and enhancing local livelihoods. Villagers gathered in large numbers—nearly 300 participants including elders, families, youth, and schoolchildren—to plant a diverse range of saplings across open community spaces and nearby forest borders.

More than just a tree-planting event, the day also served as an interactive educational platform. Children engaged in storytelling sessions and discussions about the vital role trees play in their everyday lives—offering shade, food, clean air, and protection against soil erosion. Elders shared indigenous knowledge on seasonal planting and forest conservation, fostering intergenerational learning.

The drive included the planting of fruit-bearing trees, medicinal plants, and native species selected for their adaptability and long-term benefit to the local ecosystem. Volunteers from the Foundation ensured each sapling was labeled, watered, and mapped for future care and monitoring.

9. LTC, GHAT FARAKKA – DAAN UTSAV – 1ST NOVEMBER 2024

          

Celebrating the Joy of Giving Through Compassion and Community Spirit

On 1st November 2024, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, in collaboration with LTC (Local Training Centre ), Ghat Farakka, organized a meaningful Daan Utsav — a festival of giving that united students, teachers, and local residents in the spirit of selflessness and care.

This initiative was designed to nurture the value of compassion among children while extending support to underprivileged families in and around the Ghat Farakka region. With active participation from students, parents, and volunteers, the school campus turned into a vibrant hub of generosity and joy.

The day began with an awareness session led by Silico Shiksha volunteers, focusing on the importance of giving — not just material things, but also time, love, and kindness. Children were encouraged to think about how small acts of generosity can create a lasting impact in society.

A donation corner was set up, where students and their families contributed useful items such as books, clothes, stationery, food packets, and hygiene kits. These items were later distributed to needy families in the surrounding areas by Silico Seva Mandir Foundation’s outreach team.

10. EUROKIDS RAJARHAT DAAN UTSAV,COLLABORATION EVENT 20TH NOV,2024

On 20th November 2024, EuroKids Rajarhat, in collaboration with the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, joyfully celebrated Daan Utsav — India’s festival of giving. The event aimed to instill the values of empathy, generosity, and social responsibility in young children through interactive and meaningful acts of kindness.

The celebration was specially designed for preschoolers and early learners, making it one of the most heartwarming events of the year. With the guidance of teachers, parents, and Silico volunteers, the children participated in a donation drive, contributing toys, clothes, books, and daily essentials — all meant for underprivileged children from nearby communities.

The event began with a storytelling session on the importance of kindness and sharing, followed by a creative corner where children made thank-you cards and drawings to include with their donations. The energy of the day was brightened further with cultural performances, rhymes, and group activities promoting joy through giving.

Parents and staff actively took part in this collaborative initiative, making it a wholesome community celebration. The collected items were later distributed by Silico Seva Mandir Foundation volunteers to children in need across selected areas of Rajarhat.

11. SSMF Daan Utsav Sidha Town January 2025

On a vibrant and heartfelt day at Siddha Town, Rajarhat, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation hosted Silico Daan Utsav 2025, an inspiring donation drive that brought together people from all walks of life to celebrate the spirit of giving. This annual event, rooted in compassion and community service, proved once again that collective goodwill can spark meaningful change.

With resounding support from performers, volunteers, donors, and enthusiastic parents, the event was a resounding success. The Foundation distributed essential items including clothes, stationery, food packets, and hygiene kits to over 250 underprivileged families from nearby areas. The joy on the faces of children receiving school supplies and toys captured the very essence of Daan Utsav — giving with love, receiving with dignity.

The event was graced by distinguished guests: Swami Maharaj Veyanada of Ramakrishna Math, Bishnupur, Rajarhat, who delivered a deeply motivating address on selfless service and social harmony; and Mr. Ravinder Singh, Principal of Gyan Niketan School, Kolkata, who shared insights on the importance of education and inclusive growth.

The cultural segment featured soulful musical performances, children’s recitations, and inspirational skits that emphasized values such as kindness, unity, and shared responsibility. 12. SSMF Basanta Utsav Ramkrishna Mission Bishnupur March 2025

In March 2025, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission, Bishnupur, organized a colorful and culturally vibrant Basanta Utsav, celebrating the arrival of spring through the lens of tradition, joy, and community harmony. The event stood as a symbol of unity and spiritual celebration, bringing together students, devotees, and local residents in a day filled with art, devotion, and learning.

Draped in hues of yellow and white, the campus of the Ramakrishna Mission transformed into a serene space where music, devotion, and springtime beauty merged. The program began with devotional songs and prayers offered by students and monks of the Mission, setting a spiritual tone for the rest of the festivities.

Silico Shiksha, an educational initiative of the Foundation, organized an interactive session with local children on the cultural and seasonal significance of Basanta Utsav, inspired by the teachings of Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda. Children took part in recitations, art displays, and traditional dance performances — all focused on the themes of harmony with nature and respect for cultural heritage.

13. SSMF Basanta Utsav Farakka March 2025

Set against the serene backdrop of the Mission premises, the event welcomed the arrival of spring with vibrant enthusiasm, bringing together students, devotees, and villagers in a heartwarming display of unity and tradition.

The day-long celebration was inspired by the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing universal brotherhood, simplicity, and joy in service. Through music, dance, and devotional recitations, participants honored both cultural heritage and the changing rhythms of nature.

Dressed in traditional attire, students performed Rabindra Sangeet and folk dances symbolizing renewal, hope, and the blooming of life. Members of the Foundation and Mission delivered short talks on the cultural significance of Basanta Utsav, urging the youth to embrace Indian values while striving for personal and social growth.

14. The After school support class

Education doesn’t end with the school bell—and at Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, that belief is brought to life every evening through our After-School Support Class initiative. Designed to uplift students from underprivileged and rural backgrounds, these classes provide a safe, encouraging, and resource-rich environment where children can continue learning beyond regular school hours.

Held across multiple locations in collaboration with local schools and community spaces, the program offers academic assistance, life skills training, and mentorship, tailored to the needs of students from classes I to VIII. Guided by dedicated volunteers, retired educators, and foundation-trained facilitators, the sessions focus on core subjects such as mathematics, science, language, and moral education.

More than just tuition, the After-School Support Class serves as a nurturing platform where children are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, and grow in confidence. Interactive learning methods, storytelling, activity-based teaching, and use of digital tools keep students engaged and motivated.

15. The Silico Art Utsav

The Silico Art Utsav, a flagship event by Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, is more than an art competition—it is a festival of colors, imagination, and expression. Designed to encourage creativity among children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, the Utsav brings together budding young artists and gives them a platform to explore their inner worlds through art.

Held across multiple community centers and schools, the event sees enthusiastic participation from children aged 5 to 15. With themes ranging from “My Dream World” to “Nature and Me”, the Utsav invites students to paint, draw, and create freely—without the pressure of perfection, but with the joy of exploration.

The Silico Art Utsav is rooted in the belief that art can be a powerful medium of self-expression, emotional healing, and cultural storytelling. Many participants come from under-resourced areas, where access to art materials or creative spaces is limited. Through this event, the Foundation provides not only the tools—colors, brushes, paper—but also the encouragement and recognition that can spark lifelong confidence.

A panel of volunteer artists and educators judge the artworks not just on skill, but also on originality and emotional impact. Winners receive art kits, certificates, and the opportunity to have their work displayed in school galleries and digital platforms managed by the Foundation.

16. And the road donations and village donations

Extending Compassion to the Doorsteps of the Forgotten

The Silico Seva Mandir Foundation continues to stand by its mission of reaching the unreached through its Roadside and Village Donation Drives—a heartfelt initiative aimed at delivering essential supplies, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.

Through carefully planned donation drives conducted across remote villages and roadside settlements, Foundation volunteers traverse difficult paths to reach marginalized families, daily wage laborers, the elderly, and homeless individuals living without access to basic resources. From the dusty roads of urban slums to the forest-fringed tribal hamlets, these drives offer not just material aid but also human connection.

The donations include clothing, blankets, dry ration kits, hygiene essentials, and educational materials for children, all thoughtfully curated based on the community’s specific needs. Volunteers, including youth groups and local schoolchildren, actively participate in the collection, packaging, and respectful distribution of these items—fostering a spirit of shared responsibility and empathy.

Beyond physical aid, the Silico team also takes time to engage with villagers and roadside dwellers, listening to their stories, spreading awareness about health, education, and sanitation, and directing them toward other support schemes when possible.

The Road and Village Donation Drives reflect the Foundation’s deep commitment to not only serving but uplifting the underserved. They remind us that impactful change often begins with small acts of kindness and that no one is too distant to be remembered or helped.

17. CARE FOR STREET ANIMALS – A STEP TOWARD COMPASSIONATE LIVING

On a determined and compassionate afternoon in Hastings–Khidirpur, one of Kolkata’s densely populated slum areas, the Silico Seva Mandir Foundation conducted a successful donation drive aimed at uplifting lives and restoring dignity. The initiative served as a vital outreach effort to provide essential supplies to some of the city’s most underserved families.

Organized under the Foundation’s ongoing welfare programs, the drive brought together volunteers, local leaders, and community members in a collective act of service and solidarity. More than 200 families residing in temporary shelters and makeshift homes received curated kits consisting of dry rations, hygiene products, children’s clothing, and basic medical supplies.
