Silico Seva Mandir Foundation is a non religious and voluntary, non-profit, Tax exempted, 80G, 12A and CSR registered NGO located in Rajarhat, Kolkata.
Silico Seva Mandir Foundation believes in giving back to the biosphere to create a world where nature and humans live in perfect harmony and equal priviledge is given to all! We are inspired by the thought and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji had propagated that “Serving mankind is equivalent to serving God”. Fuelled with enthusiasm our active volunteers are working towards achieving a common goal of bringing hope into the lives of those who are in need.
At Silico Seva Mandir Foundation, we believe in being the change that we want to see in the world. Our mission is to create a virtuous circle, where every person takes his or her social call in the aid of nature and humanity. For promoting this civic driven change, our volunteers are working as a catalyst in every field that needs support. We at SSMF have a vision of setting in a change that is sustainable and for this we have adopted a life- cycle approach of development.
Silico Seva Mandir Foundation has come up with an eight petal programme to empower the underprivileged sections of the society. We conduct pre event surveys at under privileged schools and areas , consequent planning of the suitable events and then conducting the events for improvement.

Silico Siksha: Every child has the fundamental right to access quality education .Our Silico Siksha initiative aims to give that access to the children belonging to the marginalized and deprived sections of the society and make them responsible and enlightened citizens of tomorrow.
Silico Sanjivanee: He who has health has hope and hope is everything. Silico Sanjivanee reaches out to help to the vulnerable people by providing them quality healthcare .SSMF has a comprehensive and community- centric health programme that takes primary healthcare services to the doorsteps of undeserved communities of both rural and urban India. We have a bi- directional approach in healthcare that is both curative and preventive. We address the gaps in availability, accessibility and affordability of healthcare.
Silico Ahaar: Silico Ahaar is a programme that is designed to battle against hunger and malnourishment which continues to be a massive issue in India. Providing food to the socio- economically challenged people is our mission. We want to nourish lives and end hunger!
Silico Sakhi: Gender discrimination and violence against women is a common issue in India. SSMF aims at providing every kind of support to the women who are in distress and empower them to live as equals in the society. Creating self- help groups to bring in employment to providing legal help and rescue, Silico Sakhi is there to give women a new lease in life.
Silico Sabooj: Silico Sabooj programme organizes tree plantation activities and inculcates environmental awareness among young students and people of the society. We aim at creating a green zone in every school we work with and be a part of the seed to sapling journey with the students. Establishing Nature Clubs and promoting “Go green” workshops are our prime interests.
Silico Shvana: “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened”-Anatole France. Animal welfare has become an increasingly important issue in India. We aim at decreasing the number of stray dogs on the streets by our spaying and neutering programmes. By organizing awareness campaigns we want to end the human-dog conflict and change people’s perception of street dogs. The street dogs too need our compassion and by providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and rescue operations. We want to create a better place for our voiceless friends!
Silico Swachhatta: Rapid urbanization, lack of awareness, inadequacy in infrastructure and loopholes in waste disposal system are the key factors that adversely affect the hygiene and cleanliness of a society. Silico Swachhatta programme aims at improving hygiene and sanitation in the underprivileged areas of the society by organizing cleanliness drives and hosting awareness programmes. We aim at educating people on the importance of waste disposal and the proper way of doing it as hygiene and health go hand in hand.
Silico Sahara: Silico Sahara has been developed to help the disadvantaged and older people to give them a secure and better life. We address the needs of the elderly and advocate for their rights. We work on Healthcare, Age care, Livelihoods as well as Advocacy and Awareness on rights and policies relating to senior citizens.
